The Newfoundland and Labrador Federation of Labour is hosting its annual Constitutional Convention in St. John’s this week.
President Jessica McCormick says the event comes at a “critical time” for the province, with a new provincial government at the helm, the federal government preparing to make cuts to the public service, and workers struggling with the cost of living.
McCormick states that there is no shortage of issues for them to tackle.
About 300 delegates are expected at the convention, which takes place today through Wednesday at the Delta Hotel.
