The City of Mount Pearl’s annual Haunting of Powers Pond event has collected over four tons of food and nearly $11,000 for local food banks.
The event, which ran from October 17 to the 28, attracted crowds from across the Avalon Peninsula.
The donation of $10,810 will be presented at today’s city council meeting.
The money is being divided among three local food banks – Society of St. Vincent de Paul, St. Peter’s Conference, Society of St. Vincent de Paul, Mary Queen of the World Conference and The Salvation Army – with each receiving just over $3,600.
