A woman is in all kinds of trouble after trying to give RNC the slip last evening.

Officers patrolling Lemarchant Road spotted a car with a fake licence plate so they flashed the lights. The driver hit the gas, with police only giving chase for a short distance in the interest of public safety.

Officers ended up being one step ahead of the driver as they were waiting for her when she tried to ditch the vehicle. It was determined that the car had been reported stolen.

The 40-year-old was arrested after a brief struggle and taken to the lockup on charges of dangerous driving, flight from police, possession of stolen property and breach of court orders.
