It took a while but RNC officers were able to catch up with a man suspected of being impaired while cruising around metro.

He first came to the attention of police in Mount Pearl around lunchtime. They flashed the lights on him on East White Hills Road, but he decided to burn rubber instead. Another patrol car later spotted the 18-year-old in a parking lot on Kelsey Drive where he resigned himself to face the music without incident.

The man has been charged with flight from police and dangerous driving. He has been released from custody to appear later.
