The next couple of Sundays are big at the Glacier as the Mount Pearl Blades junior hockey team gives back to the community.
Some 650 tickets for tonight’s game between the Blades and the Southern Shore Breakers will be given to players in the city’s minor hockey system as a prelude to next Sunday’s fundraiser.
Nicholas Hillier, director of operations for the city’s St. John’s Junior Hockey League entry, says all proceeds from next Sunday’s game will go to Daffodil Place, a facility which helps provide accommodations and other services to cancer patients.
“Minor Hockey Night is tonight and next Sunday is “Hockey Fights Cancer” night,” says Hillier.
There will be various avenues at next Sunday’s game to raise money for Daffodil Place.
