A woman is dead after being struck by a vehicle on the Burin Peninsula.
The accident happened just after 6:00 Saturday night near Salt Pond Drive on Main Street in Burin.
The 64-year-old was rushed to hospital after the collision, but succumbed to her injuries.
RCMP shut down the road until this morning.
Police are asking witnesses, or anyone with video surveillance or dash camera footage to contact the detachment at 709-279-3001.

Police spent much of the night on the scene of a serious accident on the Burin Peninsula.
Main Street in Burin was shut down at about 7:00 last night. It has since reopened in both directions.
RCMP have not released any other information on the accident.
