Topsail – Paradise MHA Paul Dinn has been formally sworn-in, nearly five weeks after the October 14th provincial election.
Dinn’s victory was confirmed following a judicial recount last week, and secures a majority for Tony Wakeham’s PC government.
The first order of business for the Education minister will be to sit down with officials at Memorial University.
“There’s a lot of things I want to do, and there’s a lot of things we’ve had in our Blue Book that we will move forward on,” he told reporters.
“So now it’s talking to the bureaucracy, staff and all that and trying to figure out,” says Dinn.
Premier Tony Wakeham indicated that he would open the House of Assembly once all members were sworn-in, but there is no indication whether that will happen before the spring sitting in the new year.
