Premier Tony Wakeham met with Prime Minister Mark Carney this morning to talk about investments and major projects in Newfoundland and Labrador.
Wakeham is spending most of the week in Ottawa and plans to meet with local MPs and cabinet ministers to promote projects from Newfoundland and Labrador.
Before their meeting, Prime Minister Mark Carney described the premier’s plans as “ambitious.”
“There’s a lot to talk about a really exciting time for the province, a series of major projects from conventional to clean energy, opportunities to restructure in a positive way, the forest products sector, fisheries, a huge range of opportunities in critical minerals, and on and on,” he told reporters in Ottawa.
“The Premier has an ambitious agenda, and we’re looking forward to working together.”
