Tributes are pouring in for one of the best female curlers of all time.
Colleen Jones of Halifax passed away yesterday at the age of 65 following a battle with cancer.
She won two world championships and six Scotties.
Jamie Korab, a member of the Gushue Rink when they won the world juniors and the Olympics, says Jones was among several skips they looked up to.
“When we were transitioning from junior to senior at about age 21 or 22, they may not have taken us under their wing, but I know I spent a lot of time with the team – Colleen, Nancy, Mary Ann and Kim. They showed me a lot of things, not necessarily on the ice but how you approach the game off the ice,” says Korab.
