The Brad Gushue rink will not be going to the Olympics.
He had a chance with last rock against Brad Jacobs but fell short in a 6-3 loss.
Gushue, who plans on retiring after this season, had a message for fans following last night’s loss.
“Thank you for all the support. You guys heard the crowd roar for us all throughout the week, it’s been amazing,” said Gushue. “I’m not as good at showing my appreciation as I’d like to be and I can’t put into good enough words how much it does mean to me. (We’d) love to be playing (Thursday) or Friday but there’s a few better teams here this week that probably deserve it more than we did.”
Brad Jacobs, who has one Olympic gold under his belt, will compete against the Mike McEwan and Matt Dunstone rinks to represent Canada in Italy.
