Three people were arrested and charged after RCMP in Bonavista North located an SUV reported stolen from the Baie Verte area.

The 2016 Hyundai Tucson was reported stolen last weekend from the Baie Verte Peninsula and was recovered Wednesday night by an officer on patrol in the New-Wes-Valley area nearly 400 km away.

The driver, a 38-year-old woman from Badger’s Quay, is scheduled to appear in court on a charge of possession of stolen property, while her passenger, a 45-year-old Gander man, is facing the same charge in addition to breach of probation.

Another passenger, a 44-year-old man from Badger’s Quay was arrested in relation to an unrelated theft in Gander and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.

A fourth occupant of the vehicle was released without charge.

RCMP say the investigation continues and further charges are possible.
