Some winter parking restrictions come into effect tonight in St. John’s.
From December 1 to March 31, parking is prohibited 24 hours a day on streets designated as a “No Parking Route.” The ban is in place so that snow and ice control equipment can service the streets. The 24-hour ban is in place regardless of weather conditions.
A weather-related parking ban will be implemented on roads outside the downtown area during or following adverse weather events.
Overnight parking bans will be in place starting Saturday, January 3, but that date is subject to change. The restriction applies in the downtown business district from 4am-6am, but outside the downtown it applies from 12:30am-7:30am.
