Energy NL is among those welcoming the recent MOU between Ottawa and the province of Alberta on a pipeline from Alberta to the coast of British Columbia – and in particular the elimination of the federal emissions cap.
The industry organization had long lobbied to get the emissions cap lifted, something it says has had a negative impact on the province’s offshore industry, and it’s pleased to see that its advocacy was effective.
CEO Charlene Johnson says Energy NL is now looking forward to working with Equinor and the federal and provincial governments to see the Bay du Nord project added to Ottawa’s Major Projects List.
