A man who was just learning to drive is facing charges of impaired after a traffic stop early Sunday morning.

Metro police pulled the car over in the west end just after 5:00. The 32-year-old man behind the wheel, who only had a novice driver’s licence, was believed to be under the influence.

He’s facing charges of impaired driving and refusal.

He was released to appear in court at a later date.
