Demand on the local taxi industry is on the rise as the Christmas holiday draws ever closer.

Chris Hollett of Jiffy Cabs says workplace Christmas parties are starting to ramp up, with several Christmas parties every Friday and Saturday night, a trend that began a week or more ago.

While availability has been a problem during the busy holiday season in the past, Hollett says there are plenty of cabs available, especially if you plan ahead and use their app.

He says it takes out a lot of the guesswork by allowing you to see your cab coming for you from across the city, and with reminders about when it’s scheduled to arrive.
