Caribou are on the move on the Great Northern Peninsula, prompting the Department of Forestry, Agriculture and Lands to issue a warning to drivers.
Animals have been seen crossing the road between Eddies Cove East, Cooks Harbour and the St. Anthony Airport, as well as from St. Anthony to Main Brook.
Caribou and moose are known to gather near roadways during the winter months to lick salt from the pavement.
Please use caution while traveling through the area.
Motorists on the Northern Peninsula are reminded to watch out for caribou between Eddies Cove East, Cooks Harbour & the St. Anthony Airport, as well as St. Anthony to Main Brook (Routes 430 and 432).
