The Trans Canada Highway has reopened following a multiple vehicle collision about 2 km west of the Long Harbour-Chapel Arm turnoff earlier this afternoon.
Multiple people were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Firefighters had the use the Jaws of Life to remove some of the occupants from the wreckage.
Crews are now on the scene cleaning up debris.
Traffic is slow-moving in the area.

A portion of the Trans Canada Highway is closed this hour as emergency crews respond to a serious collision.
The Whitbourne Fire Department says multiple vehicles are involved in the crash about 3 km west of the Long Harbour-Chapel Arm turnoff.
Roads are slippery in the area and drivers are being advised to use caution and prepare for lengthy delays as crews tend to the scene.
