We have numerous power outages on the island caused by the severe weather conditions.
In metro, service has been interrupted in the area of the Parkway and Freshwater Road, Mundy Pond, Hoyles Avenue, Shea Heights, Mayor Avenue, Stamps Lane, Flatrock, Mount Carson and other parts of Mount Pearl. Elsewhere, power is out in Goobies, Adeytown, Plate Cove, Southern Harbour, Charlottetown, Grenfell Heights in Grand Falls-Windsor, Cox’s Cove, Cormack, Reidville and Lourdes.
Newfoundland Power is on the situation but has no estimated times for restoration.
The winds caused lots of damage in some places. A utility pole is down on Torbay Road near Ennis Avenue and many portable signs in metro have incurred some structural damage.
