Police are pointing to an accident involving an SUV and a school bus in metro earlier this week as a reminder to drivers to be extra wary on the roads, especially in school zones, for the next week and a half.
Schools will be dismissed Friday, December 19 for the Christmas break but, until then, there’s a lot of activity at off-times of the day.
There were kids on the bus in question, but there were no injuries.
Cst. Steph Myers of the RNC says school kids have a lot going on this time of year, and roads and sidewalks can be slippery.
“Schools will be dismissing at all hours over the next while, so it’s not just during the rush hours – it will be lunchtimes and other times of day. We want people to have their wits about them and slow down,” says Cst. Myers.
