Winter isn’t even officially here yet, but a healthy blanket of snow is already covering the trails, and for snowmobilers, that is a welcome sight.

The past few winters have been rough for people who enjoy winter sports such as skiing and snowmobiling, but the snow this year came early and often.

Peter Troke, president of The Discovery Trails Snowmobile Association and a director with the Newfoundland and Labrador Snowmobile Federation, says the bottom line is that winter enthusiasts should take advantage of every good day because you never know when the weather will change.

He says anybody who bought a new machine in 2025 will get as much use out of it this week as they did all of last year.
