The provincial government is closing its Boston office.
The office was first announced by former Liberal premier Andrew Furey in September 2024 as a way to open up new trade avenues for the province.
The decision to move forward with the office drew criticism last year as trade tensions with the United States heated up.
The now PC-lead government has determined that concentrating resources in a single geographic location is not the best way to advance international trade or attract investment.
Going forward, international business development efforts will be carried out in province.
The closure is expected to save government $1-million.
