The NL Folk Arts Society’s last remaining board members have resigned, leaving the future of the society and the annual NL Folk Festival up in the air.

A member of a committee representing the membership of the NL Folk Arts Society, Jean Hewson, says a meeting is planned for mid-March to try to find a path forward.

She says they’re looking at the possibly of installing an interim board in preparation for an AGM and a “proper election.”

“So, we would elect an interim board that go in, get things like financial reports ready, talk to the funders, see if some funding can be reinstated, do all of that kind of groundwork to see what’s needed for the society to move forward.”
