The minister responsible for the NL Liquor Corporation says they have sold off over $3-million worth of American liquor since it was put back on the shelves in December.
Just before Christmas government announced that it was selling the booze that was put into storage in response to the threat of tariffs from the Trump administration.
About $1-million of that money was earmarked for the Community Food Sharing Association.
Now, Craig Pardy says a total of $3.3-million worth of American product has been bought.
That equates to 53 per cent of the available product, according to Pardy. He believes they are actually ahead of where they thought they would be in terms of sales, noting “That’s a lot in a short time.”
