The provincial and federal governments have announced disaster relief for farmers affected by widespread drought conditions in 2025.
Last year saw some of the driest conditions in recent memory, with rivers running dry and massive bodies of water receding to levels never before seen.
The program will be offered under the 2025-26 Canada – Newfoundland and Labrador AgriRecovery Forage Assistance Initative.
Governments say the drought conditions seen last summer “significantly” impact forage production.
The money will help livestock producers purchase and transport animal feed.
The deadline to apply is March 2nd.
