The City of St. John’s plans to add more traffic-calming measures throughout the city to slow drivers.
Last year, speed cushions were installed on Glenerye Street, Empire Avenue, and Smithville Crescent.
Following a survey of residents, both projects on Smithville Crescent and Empire Avenue will proceed with permanent speed cushions.
The city is also planning to add testing to five other areas, including streets in Goulds, Kenmount Terrace, and the east end.
A list of where the temporary speed bumps or cushions will be installed can be found at VOCM dot com.
Temporary traffic speed cushions will be installed this spring at:
- Old Bay Bulls Road – Elliott’s Road to Rosemarkie Street
- Great Eastern Avenue – Iceland Place to Ladysmith Drive
- Middleton Street – Harding Road to Newfoundland Drive
- Parsons Road – Ennis Ave to Logy Bay Road 3
- Heffernan’s Line – Back Line to Main Road
