The province’s Seniors’ Advocate is retiring.
Susan Walsh will officially leave the position on May 19.
Wash calls serving in the role the “high point” of her career, noting that she is “profoundly grateful” for the trust that was placed in her.
She believes that during her time she strengthened the operations of her office to enhance transparency and accountability, including an annual status report on government’s response to their recommendations and a yearly report on the wellbeing of seniors.
Walsh states that much has been accomplished but there is more to do. She commits to supporting a smooth transition to the next Seniors’ Advocate.
