The issue of health will be front and center today as the group Quadrangle opens an event called Quorum 2026.
It’s in partnership with the Faculty of Medicine at Memorial University and is set for tomorrow at 1:00 PM in the Dr. Richard Fagan Lecture Theatre.
Representatives from the provincial and federal governments will be there, as well as NL Health Services.
Executive director of Quadrangle Colt Politte says the theme of the event came from the faculty of medicine. They say health care has been a sticking point for a lot of folks in the queer and trans communities in terms of feeling safe and feeling seen when you walk into a medical office.
There is both an in-person and virtual component for the forum, which goes through Sunday with a number of workshops and panels.
