A man has been arrested and charged after a quantity of marked firewood was stolen in Clarenville.
The RCMP were first called about the situation on Wednesday.
They say marked firewood that was being stored near Power Plant Road was taken, with the owner reporting that the man who left with the wood was headed westbound on the TCH.
Police located the suspect vehicle stopped at a commercial parking lot along the TCH a short time later.
Now, 34-year-old Mitchell Spurrell is facing charges of theft under $5,000 and failing to comply with a release order.
He was also ticketed for driving with a suspended or cancelled license, and failing to produce insurance and registration.
