It now costs a little bit more to apply for or renew your passport.
The cost of a 10-year adult passport is now $163.50 – up from the old fee of $160. Five-year passports will set one back another $2.50 at a cost of $122.50.
The price of the travel document for those under the age of 16 goes up by $1.50 at a total price of $58.50.
Most increases are being applied to more specialized services such as urgent or temporary passports.
Urgent pickup will now come at a cost of $125.75 – up from $110. Those who need to visit Service Canada on a weekend or stat holiday will now have to pay $383.50 instead of the old fee of $335.
The federal government says fees were adjusted to reflect inflation and the cost of delivery services.
