It was almost game over for a minor hockey team participating in the Joe LeMontange Memorial Tournament in Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia on the weekend, but local players and their families came together to save the day.
Hockey gear for the U11AA Boys St. John’s Caps went missing in transit, and with puck-drop not far off, the call went out for some help.
Droves of local hockey players and their families showed up, and within hours, nearly a dozen tables were filled with gear.
Local sports shops also helped out, ensuring that the players could hit the ice in time.
The U11 AA Caps went on to win the tournament.
