Opposition Leader John Hogan says he’s heard numerous complaints about the availability of and renovations needed for NL Housing units.

Hogan couldn’t comment on the specifics of the latest AG report on the province’s social housing supply, but says the NL Housing file is an important one. He’s calling on the PC’s to repair and add new housing units.

“(Repairs are) part of the process, and it should be done, sooner rather than later,” he told reporters.

“I think what also is very clear that needs to be done is to expand the units that NLHC has. Housing is an important issue. It’s an issue that’s certainly become more of a topic, I would say, over the last two to four years. People who are in the system not only need those houses appropriately fixed and maintained, but probably we need some more as well.”
