Tensions continue to escalate in the Middle East as the conflict enters its fourth week.
U.S. President Donald Trump is warning that the United States could take military action against Iran, including targeting power infrastructure, if the Strait of Hormuz is not fully reopened within 48 hours. Iranian officials have responded by saying any such move would trigger retaliation against U.S. and Israeli energy and infrastructure assets.
Meanwhile, missile strikes launched from Iran hit two communities in southern Israel late Saturday. Several buildings were damaged and dozens of people were injured in areas located near one of Israel’s primary nuclear research facilities.
In a separate development, authorities in Qatar confirm six people are dead following a helicopter crash in its territorial waters. One person remains missing. Early reports suggest the crash may have been caused by a technical malfunction, although the identities of the victims have not yet been released.
The incident comes as regional tensions continue to rise, with ongoing military activity and increasingly sharp warnings between Iran, Israel, and the United States.
