A 46-year-old Catalina man has been charged with refusal following a moose-vehicle collision on the Trans Canada near Gambo.
Emergency responders were called around 4:30 on Saturday morning and the driver was taken to hospital in Gander with non-life threatening injuries.
Police noticed signs of impairment and requested a blood demand at hospital, which the driver refused.
He was arrested and charged with impaired driving and refusal.
RCMP say the man’s licence which was suspended at the time of the crash, has been suspended for an even longer period of time, and his vehicle, or what was left of it, was impounded.
He’s expected to appear in provincial court in August.
