The RNC has apprehended one of two men wanted in connection with a recent assault in Corner Brook, but the search continues for the second suspect.
Police issued arrest warrants last week after someone was attacked with bear spray at a home in the city.
RNC say 21-year-old Joshua Roberts was arrested without incident on Friday on charges of assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, administering a noxious substance and failures to comply with release and probation orders.
The search continues for 40-year-old Todd Barry. He is 6 feet, 1 inch tall with hazel eyes and brown and grey hair.
Police warn he may be armed and dangerous, and are urging the public not to approach him, but to contact police immediately.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Todd Barry is asked to call Corner Brook RNC at 709-637-4100 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
