One of Canada’s major airlines is adding an additional fee to some bookings to offset rising fuel prices.
Porter Airlines has added a temporary fuel surcharge to flights redeemed through its VIPorter rewards program.
The fee will be applied to each passenger, each way on all flights booked on March 23 onward. Existing bookings are not affected.
The airline says the ‘peak surcharge’ is temporary and will be lifted once oil prices stabilize and prices return to more normal levels.
