A 48-year-old man has been arrested and charged with assaulting two police officers in Natuashish Tuesday night.

RCMP were called to a home on Tshakapesh Street following reports of a man, who appeared to be intoxicated, attempting to gain entry to the house with a large wooden object.

Forty-eight-year-old Sebastian Edward Rich was arrested at the scene.

He is facing two counts of assaulting a police officer, resisting or obstructing an officer, and mischief under $5,000.

The accused appeared in court yesterday.
