RCMP in Bay St. George are hoping to speak with a woman who witnesses in Stephenville say appeared to be in distress following a concerning incident in the town this morning.

RCMP want to confirm the women’s identity and well being as soon as possible.

Police received a number of calls around 10:00 a.m. about a woman who appeared to be in distress, walking near the corner of St. Clare Avenue and Gallant Street.

Reports indicate the petite blonde woman, who was only partially clothed, appeared to be running away from an unidentified man.

The woman had left the area by the time police arrived and they want to confirm her well being.

Witnesses told officers the woman left the area in a dark-coloured pickup that was being driven by another woman.

Anyone with information, dash cam or CCTV footage, is asked to contact Bay St. George RCMP
