You take the warming signs of spring where you can get them, and the capital city is preparing for higher temps by reminding residents that garbage must be covered starting April 1st.

That means all garbage brought to the curb must either be in a bin with a lid, or covered with a net.

Garbage must not be brought to the curb before 6:00 a.m. on scheduled pick up days.

That, says the city, helps to reduce the amount of litter and prevents pests from getting at the garbage.
