An announcement is coming related to the federal government’s recent boost in military spending.
Prime Minister Mark Carney said last week that the federal government intends to spend half a trillion dollars on defense in Canada over the next decade.
Opposition Leader John Hogan says local companies are getting a share of $16 million in repayable loans, while Nova Scotia is getting $2 billion in defense spending.
Premier Tony Wakeham says the province is working with Ottawa on a number of projects, and that a major announcement is coming.
He told the legislature that a defense spending update is coming in Happy Valley-Goose Bay this Wednesday.
However, with poor weather in the forecast the announcement may no e happening as originally scheduled.
