RCMP have confirmed that they are investigating after the carcass of a dog was discovered down an embankment in Upper Island Cove.
Police were called to the area along Bishops Cove Shore Road just after 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
The animal was recovered with assistance from the Harbour Grace Volunteer Fire Brigade’s high angle rescue team.
A veterinarian will complete an necropsy to determine how the dog died.
