A man has been arrested and charged following an unusual incident in the capital city’s west end on Monday.
The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary was called to the intersection of Topsail Road and Burgeo Street around 9:30 p.m. after a man was said to have caused damage to a bus.
While attempting to arrest the suspect, it is alleged that the man tried to bite the officers, and threatened them.
Forty-four-year-old Vincent Clarke has been charged with causing property damage, assaulting a police officer and uttering threats. He was held for court.
