The launch of the Artemis II, the first space journey to the Moon in decades, has some extra meaning for the Innu Nation in Labrador.
Canadian astronaut Jeremy Hansen carried an Innu Nation Flag into space, and the Innu Nation says he’s also brought along a little piece of Labrador as the space ship orbits the Moon.
The Innu Nation teased that Hansen may also be carrying a piece of rock from Kameshtashtan, near Mistastin Lake, the location of generations of Innu hunting camps in northern Labrador, and now a National Historic Site.
