Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro is planning what it calls significant upgrades to Goodyear’s Dam on the Exploits River.
Work on the facility, located four kilometres upstream from the Grand Falls generating station, includes construction of a new fishway on the south side to maintain Atlantic salmon passage. The deteriorated existing fishway on the north side of the dam will be infilled.
The minister of the environment will make a decision on the proposal by mid-May.
