The provincial government says it will not open any new family care teams across the province until it can fully staff its existing ones.
Health Minister Lela Evans says she’s been looking to recruit new healthcare workers as several sites are dealing with staffing shortages.
As for some of the planned sites, Evans says very little was done to get them up and running.
“There was some initial work done, but very little work being done actually on the future family care teams,” she told reporters.
“So right now we want to make sure the ones that we have operational are properly functional and fully staffed.”
