Members of the Allied Health Professionals will host lunchtime rallies today outside the Health Sciences and St. Clare’s to raise awareness about what it calls an “escalating staffing crisis” facing hospital pharmacies.
The union is calling for “immediate action” to stabilize the workforce.
AAHP says the vacancy rate for pharmacists working the public system is approaching 20 per cent province-wide, and is as high as 75 per cent in some rural hospitals.
The rallies are taking place from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m.
