A group that helps to respond when disaster strikes says they are looking forward to expanding their footprint in Newfoundland and Labrador.

The team first expanded into Newfoundland and Labrador last summer in response to the devastating wildfires that gripped the region.

Yesterday, the group received $50,000 from North Atlantic, and CEO Mischa Kaplan says the funds will go a long way.
“It’s huge” says Kaplan, noting it will help them with recruitment and getting equipment stationed here so they don’t have to get it brought in from other jurisdictions.
