Foster Families NL is pleased to see increases to rates for foster and kinship caregivers.
Government has allocated $8-million to increase those rates in the budget.
Executive director Kelli Hodder says this will be the first rate increase since 2012.
She states that they have been advocating for an increase for several years, so “this represents a significant step forward.”
Hodder says there are currently 900 kids in 515 foster homes across the province, and there are 720 kids in 535 kinship homes.
