The Atlantic Chamber of Commerce is pleased to see government take a renewed interest in reducing the amount of red tape that slows business development and expansion.
Chamber CEO Rhonda Tulk Lane says the creation of a Red Tape Reduction Office is a good step in helping to address what many business owners see as an impediment to growth.
She says they’re glad to see government identify the problem by giving it an office, but she warns they’ll be watching to make sure its run efficiently and effectively.
‘That’s what we’re applauding, that it was named in the budget. We want them to be careful though; we don’t want to see a whole bunch of money going in to create an office, and more money. We’d like to see reallocations of money.” She suggests that the business community can also help in bringing ideas and solutions to the fore.
