Forestry officials are seeking the public’s help in identifying the person believed to have started a large fire close to a wooded area near Trout River last week.
The fire was discovered burning out of control on Thursday afternoon.
Officials with the department say household furniture, tires, brush and grass were burned in an area off the main highway, only 500 metres from the nearest home.
It was knocked down by officers in the area.
Witnesses or anyone with video footage of the area between 12 noon and 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 4 is asked to contact the Resource Enforcement Division at 709-637-2971.
