Telecom provider Eastlink is expanding its home internet service to the metro region next month.

The company has been operating in rural Newfoundland and Labrador for years, but plans to expand service to the metro region from Holyrood to Torbay.

Sales and marketing specialist with Eastlink, Donna Snow, says people have already reached out, ready to make the switch.

“We sent an email out last week to some of our current customers and asked them if they wanted to pre-order the service. When we sent the email out and the message to our current customers, it exceeded our expectation. We had hundreds of people going to pre-order.”

Snow says they plan on hosting a launch party at their Avalon Mall location next month.
